Happy new year! Hope everyone’s hangovers are gone by now. They should be. I hope…!?
Well, in sad news, i had to move out of my home away from home, my beautiful studio! In good news, i’m nearly done renovating my room in the slum house i live in so i can actually work in there. This has involved putting in new floors, repainting, getting more lights and buying really unusual things like hangers and drawers. (Until now, my room has been a dark nest made of clothing, debris and dried vomit. Really.) Here’s an inprogress shot i posted to my twitter!
I’m in a show coming up on February 6th called HEART ON. It features local artists, designers, performers and musians from Vancouver, BC. It’s at Box Studios, 1622 Franklin Street. The theme is (take a guess) Valentine’s Day, and i’m sort of having trouble with making something sweet and cute. I suppose i don’t HAVE to, but i’m kinda challenging myself to make something without a brooding girl and skulls. Err, we’ll see how it goes!
Ladies First 4 is starting in Vancouver on March 8th. Like the years before, the show will be touring to a few places in the US! So far, we know this includes Pheonix, AZ and Ashbury Park, NY, but no dates yet.
I’ll also be travelling around a little bit in the first half of the year! I’m going to San Fran, Oakland and LA at the end of Feb, and Montreal again in May. Hoping to catch some great shows while i’m there. For sure i will get to catch a photography show my wonderful partner in crime Tessa Beebe is having in SF on the 24th!
